Pressure Washing Sydney

What is pressure washing?

Pressure washing uses high-pressure water to remove dirt, mould, algae, moss, oil and grime from hard external surfaces such as concrete, brick and paving. Delicate surfaces — render, painted walls, timber and roof tiles — require soft washing instead: low pressure combined with a treatment solution. In Sydney, pressure cleaning typically costs $3.50 to $8 per square metre, or $125 to $185 per hour.

High Pressure vs Soft Washing — Why It Matters

This is the part most quotes don’t explain, and the reason some pressure cleaning jobs end in repairs.

Water, Runoff and Council Rules

Worth knowing before you book anyone.

Pressure washing water is usually drawn from your tap — confirm any quote assumes that. More importantly, runoff near stormwater drains is regulated in NSW, and some councils and most strata buildings require containment, particularly where detergents or biocides are used.

We use biodegradable solutions as standard and contain runoff where the site requires it. On strata balconies and in commercial car parks near drains, containment isn’t optional. If a contractor doesn’t raise it, they probably aren’t doing it.

Sydney water restrictions can also apply to some external cleaning. We’ll tell you if anything current affects your job.

Pricing of Pressure Washing Sydney

Exterior surfaces suffer constantly from Sydney’s sun, coastal salt air, grease accumulation, algae growth, and tire marks. Heavy-duty pressure washing in Sydney restores driveways, exterior walls, decks, and outdoor paving to look brand new, immediately boosting your property’s overall curb appeal.

High-pressure water blast cleaning rapidly strips away years of stubborn surface weathering, mold spores, and slippery moss buildup. Experienced pressure cleaning operators in Sydney utilize surface-adjusted water pressures to deliver maximum stain removal power without eroding mortar or damaging sensitive exterior coatings.

  • Hard Surface Restoration: High-PSI washing for concrete driveways, brickwork, stone pathways, and pavers.
  • Moss & Mold Removal: Chemical-free elimination of slippery algae and dark organic staining on outdoor surfaces.
  • Patio & Deck Refresh: Removing ground-in grime from timber decking, outdoor tiles, and retaining walls.

Frequently Asked Questions

A standard single driveway costs $250 to $450. A large or heavily stained double driveway runs $400 to $800. Price depends on area, surface type and how much oil, tyre marking and biological growth needs removing.
Not on concrete, brick or standard pavers — those tolerate high pressure well. Exposed aggregate needs care to avoid dislodging stones, and paved driveways need attention to joint sand. Render, paint, timber and roof tiles must never be high-pressure cleaned; we soft wash those instead.
Concrete driveways typically stay clean for 12–24 months in Sydney, depending on shade, tree cover and traffic. Sealing after cleaning extends that considerably — sealer runs $3 to $8 per square metre on top of the clean, and reduces how quickly the surface recontaminates.
We soft wash roofs using a low-pressure biocide treatment. We do not high-pressure roof tiles — it lifts and cracks them, drives water under the tile line, and strips protective coating from Colorbond.
Usually. Fresh oil comes out readily; old oil that’s soaked deep into porous concrete may lighten substantially rather than disappear entirely. We’ll assess and tell you what result to expect before we start.

Yes — an outdoor tap and a power point. Tell us at booking if the site has neither, and we’ll bring our own supply.

It’s one of the highest-return presentation jobs available. A clean driveway, path and exterior transforms the first photograph in a listing and the first impression at an open home, for a few hundred dollars.
